A Brief Summary of This Position:
The Supply Chain Analyst is accountable for developing and maintaining demand plans, and providing adequate information based on the data to the SIOP team, especially in the areas of Sales and Forecast. We are looking for a highly driven individual who will apply analytics to achieve the most accurate forecast for the Irrigation/Tubing division and proactively look for opportunities to improve ‘Forecast Accuracy’, ‘Service Level’, and ‘Inventory Turns’ for U.S. sites. This position performs appropriate statistical analyses using shipment, consumption, historical information, market conditions and other sources of data.
You will collaborate with other areas of the organization (sales, operations, product development) by actively seeking to understand factors that will help make decisions for the greater good of the organization to ensure increased throughput, lower operating expenses, and higher customer satisfaction. You will also utilize business knowledge and acumen to independently determine value-added areas that require focus toward service optimization and overall continuous improvement (increasing efficiency and reducing costs).
Develops, analyzes and communicates future item level demand plans that drive supply chain planning processes
Works with all U.S. Sites in developing forecasts for their market & upload it into corresponding ERP systems (QAD)
Support Territory Sales Managers with their regional forecasts
Maintains planning bill structures with accurate data
Assists in building New Product Forecast Models – planning bill of material.
Responsible for the forecasting update process, typically done on a monthly basis.
Responsible for supporting KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) to measure, control and benchmark SIOP processes including Forecast Accuracies and Sales trends.
Identify and implement system and process improvements within the SIOP to enable overall improvement of the processes and high forecast accuracy.
Work closely with supply chain, sales operations, and operations to provide efficient communication to support production needs
Assist with the development & implementation of process changes and improvements within the department
Develop relationships with internal and external business partners by responding to questions and concerns, developing, and analyzing a variety of reports, and assisting with integrating operations
Support stakeholders through detailed statistical analysis and metrics development/maintenance dashboards to track KPI’s and report on SIOP performance
Provide analytical support for forecasting, projects, new business opportunities, and proposals for direct support and stakeholders.
Other Important Details about the Role:
This individual contributor position reports to the SIOP Manager and has no direct reports
The role requires up to 10% domestic travel, including overnight stays
This role requires occasional calls/communication with international sites outside of typical work hours
Communicate to gather clear requirements and work toward fully understanding system constraints
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Preferred Bachelors with 1-3 years relevant experience or Associates Degree with 4 years relevant experience or 6 years of relevant experience.
Experience with advanced planning system(s) - (Adexa, Demand Solutions, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar system)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, SQL, and Power BI
Demonstrated experience in sales, operations, operations planning, master scheduling, production planning, inventory control or production control within an MRP/ERP environment is preferred
Proven data management skills with the ability to create a story and vision with data
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet aggressive project deadlines
Demonstrated ability to effectively complete multiple and concurrent assignments independently or as part of a team
Strong presentation skills, initiative, a self-starter
Problem-solving and analytical ability.
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
Master’s degree in MIS, Business Management or a related discipline is preferred
Professional work experience with inventory and current production activity control techniques and applications, development and use of data query, and product produced is preferred
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of material requirements planning (MRP) is preferred
APICS CPIM or CSCP is a plus
Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
