A Brief Summary of This Position:
Reporting to the Valley Site Controller, you will support the accounting and financial reporting functions for multiple manufacturing sites (Valley and Columbus) together with Divisional and Corporate accounting procedures, and includes inventory valuation and control, shop order/work order variance analysis, financial/management reporting and closing activities. This includes the completion of reports, charts and diagrams that provide a basis for comparison and evaluation. You will also provide ad hoc analysis to support financial forecasts, internal management reporting, benchmarking and monitoring of key cost indicators. You will work closely with the site personnel to understand and explain performance variances and trends. Other responsibilities include timely and accurate completion of the monthly book close process and supporting the weekly forecasts.
Essential Functions:
You will report to the Regional Controller have no direct reports
We are looking for up to 10% travel domestically, including overnight stays, to different regional sites
Hybrid, flexible schedule with the ability to work in the office 2-3 days per week
Manage monthly financial closing tasks related to assigned sites
Analyze periodic manufacturing variances including purchase cost, material usage and overhead variances
Collaborate with plant operations to evaluate, document, assign and improve the effectiveness of the inventory cycle count programs and activities, to include creating effective controls for Internal Audit
Prepare accurate financial reports using Excel and OneStream that compare and analyze current results with budgeted results and future forecast
Communicate the results of cost analysis performed with reliable conclusions that management can use to implement more effective operational strategies
Help with cost and inventory report generation for operations management
Work with the site personnel to gather data and explanations to support spend and productivity analysis
Support the Regional Controller in completing and summarizing weekly forecast updates
Maintain appropriate professional competencies, certifications, licenses, etc., necessary to perform job. Inform management of any training needs you have.
Recommend and implement process improvements and participate in special projects to positively affect the team and business
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years relevant experience OR Associates Degree with 7+ years relevant experience OR 9+ years of relevant experience
3+ years of experience in cost accounting and inventory reporting and analysis
2+ years of general ledger accounting experience including account reconciliations, journal entries, and a basic understanding of internal controls
Proficiency in data analysis and tools used to evaluate data
High proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel and Power Point skills
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
An MBA or graduate degree in Accounting, Business or other related field and/or industry-recognized certification
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with an annual revenue base of $50M or greater
Strong cost accounting and financial analysis skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines
Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze standard to actual cost information
Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to work independently within the context of a complex matrix organization
Experience with IFS and/or OneStream systems preferred but not required

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in an office setting. You are required to sit for extended periods of time, and talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Up to 10% travel requirements for this position. You are frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with multiple files and forms and while working on the computer. You are occasionally required to move about the office. You must use proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. You must occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
