The ideal candidate would be based out of Aurora, Colorado or willing to relocate to Aurora, Colorado. Omaha, Nebraska will be an alternate location for this position.

A Brief Summary of This Position:

The Program Manager will be accountable for the coordinated organization, strategy, direction, and implementation of a portfolio of projects and activities that together align with the business needs and achieve outcomes and realize benefits that are of strategic importance. This position will provide leadership direction to project leaders and design engineers, while being responsible for executing and driving each program to defined metrics including new product development, product life cycle support, and technology integration. The Program Manager will autonomously manage the development process and communicate to senior management on a variety of processes and technical issues within each program, while being able to anticipate and manage tasks and risks within each project to ensure high quality products are developed, built, and shipped on time.

Essential Functions:

  • This position reports to the Vice President and General Manager – Solar and has no direct or indirect reports

  • This role requires up to 10% travel internationally and domestically, including overnight stays

  • Manage cross-functional teams through a defined and gated process to include project timelines and maintaining it through the life of the project

  • Defines decision-making process for project teams and coach personnel to develop and implement cross-functional solutions to complex issues

  • Make informed decisions if the project team cannot. Decisions made are critical and have significant financial and schedule impact to the program/company.

  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously (i.e. Program) and communicate progress to executive management

  • Establish and maintain relationships with senior management for the purpose of aligning objectives and removing obstacles for project completion

  • Provide performance expectations and evaluation for cross-functional resources on project teams

  • Work with senior management to continually improve processes

  • Develop and manage the project budget with the team including development expense capital tooling and expense tooling

  • Guide the team to develop new products that meet cost targets

  • Regularly provide feedback and solutions for process improvements including the New Product Development process and manufacturing processes

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to less experienced team members as needed

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): 6-12 bullets

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years relevant experience or Associates Degree with 8+ years relevant experience or 10+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience in a product development related discipline (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, or Design)

  • Experience successfully managing low-moderate complexity projects and/or subsystems of larger projects

  • Proven results that demonstrate an ability to build teams, make sound decisions and drive action across geographical boundaries & cross functionally

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • MBA

  • 5-10 years of experience in project or program management

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Up to 10% travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
