A Brief Summary of This Position:
The basic function of this position is to support the manufacturing management group in the implementation, communication, and tracking of various improvement and performance activities. Creates and maintains systems to track manufacturing performance as it relates to divisional goals. Will maintain clerical efforts of the Mid-Size Pole office including tasks such as data entry and tracking results for workloads, customer orders and future needs, as well as communicating needs to the shop personnel and answering questions from support departments.
Assists manufacturing management in the creation and presentation of information critical to the division’s success. Makes contact with outside vendor/services as required. Provides basic back-up support to the manufacturing group as determined by the shop’s Supervisor and/or Manager. These tasks may include issuing material, receiving material into a new locations, verifying and sending emails to all parties regarding testing requirements, updating “reject” tags and working on check-in packets for materials.
Routine collection and updating of various manufacturing records
Ongoing design and improvement of tracking systems
Assembly of presentation materials for departmental and divisional meetings
Orders supplies and specialized items for the manufacturing group
Provides basic clerical support to the manufacturing management group
Assist Production Control department in areas of coverage, order entry & tracking
This position reports into shop’s Production Supervisor
Other Important Details about the Role:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with abilities to create, modify and update detailed spreadsheets/graphs
Must have a good understanding of IFS & Discover no later than end of first 30 days
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Possess high mathematical aptitude using percentages
Should have knowledge of the manufacturing processes
Emphasis on accuracy is a must
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
High School diploma and 1+ year of experience
Minimum of six months of strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications
Minimum of one-year experience with general office practices including experience with office equipment such as: copiers, printers, scanners, and computers
Demonstrated ability to use independent judgement, discretion, and initiative
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications is essential
Strong numerical aptitude and analytical ability for filing, data entry, and keyboarding skills with extreme emphasis on accuracy
Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, draws valid conclusions using independent judgment, discretion, and initiative in performing job duties
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment subject to specific deadlines which must be met with accuracy and attention to detail
Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills
Ability to work in and be an integral part of a team environment
Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds with 10 pounds maximum as most frequent lift

Previous administrative experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
