A Brief Summary of This Position:

The Associate International Order Manager enters, schedules, reviews, accepts, administers and invoices irrigation system orders, sprinkler packages, and parts orders for the assigned international market. The position coordinates orders with shipping, manufacturing, purchasing and logistics to ensure best customer service and response. The Associate Order Manager strives to ensure accuracy and completeness of all orders giving attention to scheduling and considering the potential for split shipments to optimum utilization of capacity and customer satisfaction. This person deals with global customers, many of whom have limited English language capabilities. This position also works with internal cross-functional teams involved in supporting the international orders. The Associate Order Manager also supports the international sales team with numerous administrative tasks including V20 order entry. This position will also be responsible for leading process improvements, key performance indicators (KPI’s), and dashboard reporting.

Essential Functions:

  • Enters, schedules, reviews, accepts, administers and invoices irrigation system orders, sprinkler packages, and parts orders for the assigned international market.

  • Oversee all activity relating to assigned area of international irrigation systems and part orders including initiating, prioritizing and scheduling shipments and coordinating processing of international order with all Valmont departments, overseas sites and dealerships

  • Responsible for monitoring anti-boycott rules from the U.S. government and ensuring that none of the orders from Valmont’s facilities are destined for restricted countries.

  • Schedule orders to maximize profitability of supply location based on cost of goods, freight and availability

  • Provide information on cost analysis of international orders to accounting and territory managers for evaluation of profitability of their regions

  • Guide the International Sales Administrator in the tasks of international orders

  • Ensure the utmost care is taken to compile data to determine how Territory Managers achieve margin targets and make recommendations as needed

  • Understand VSOC structure and process

  • Maintain professional business relationships with global operations personnel and internal cross-functional teams supporting international orders

  • Identify and implement system and process improvements within the supply chain to enable overall business improvements

  • Assist with the development and implementation of process changes and improvements within the department

  • Support stakeholders by providing detailed analysis and metrics development/maintenance dashboards to track KPI’s and report on Order Management performance

  • This role requires up to 5% travel (internationally/domestically), including overnight stays.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field OR Associate’s Degree with 3+ years of experience OR 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience with international customer service

  • Excellent skills in the use of mainframe Microsoft Office applications including: Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Flexibility to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines

  • Decisive problem-solving ability and capability to assess people and situations with accuracy

  • Confident self-starter with integrity and accountability

  • Team player and the ability to work collaboratively with others from all areas of Valmont

  • Exceptional time management skills

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is preferred

  • Six years of international order management experience is preferred

  • Fluency in Russian language

  • Previous experience with servicing international customers and knowledge of forecast and manufacturing schedules as it relates to parts availability

  • Professional work experience using an OMS (Order Management System)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Access and Discoverer is preferred

  • Working knowledge of QAD and POPs

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Lean theory management

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed within either an office environment or from a home-office environment. Some work is done in the dealer locations or at off-site trade shows. While visiting any manufacturing areas of Valmont, the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required at all times. The work environment can be demanding at times especially during the busy sales season or prior to new product launches. Domestic and International travel represents up to 5% of the work schedule and includes transportation by both vehicle and by air.

Frequent sitting for long periods of time. Light physical effort is required for handling, gripping, grasping, as well as reaching outward and upward. Regular filing, speaking over the telephone and participating in meetings. High level of mental stamina for decision making and analyzing. On rare occasions, the employee may need to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds in working with large files, binders, and boxes of paper. A dolly is available for transportation of heavier items. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
