A Brief Summary of This Position:
The Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting the Product and Transformation and the Research and Development teams. In this individual contributor role, the incumbent is responsible for completing tasks necessary to advance various projects to completion. Tasks will involve working with concrete materials to perform various tests, working with Operations to assist with the implementation of new improvements. The incumbent will also assist with the lab and testing facilities, when needed. In addition, the incumbent will need to monitor project workflow to assist with meeting milestone dates for projects assigned.
Reports to Director of Product and Transformation
Domestic travel may be required up to 10%
Perform various testing related to concrete and other materials
Effectively communicate the status of projects to the Product and Transformation and Research and Development teams
Contribute to the development of testing plans and scheduling of testing
Assists with the evaluation of concepts to determine viability within the operations
Gathers, compiles, and organizes data and information for analysis

Independently able to perform tasks requested by leadership
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Occasionally works with manufacturing personnel to ensure that any product designed can be manufactured efficiently
Coordinates daily activities with team members to ensure the most efficient use of time, and flow of work activities through the work team
Possess an innate curiosity to improve processes and procedures
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Experience in handling and maintaining mechanical/electrical testing equipment
Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt and professionally communicate with a variety of people
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to operate equipment (loaders, forklifts, small overhead cranes, etc.) in both outdoor and indoor setting. Candidate should be certified or able to attain certification to operate such equipment safely and effectively
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
Keep inventory of equipment, testing apparatus, and materials
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the lab and testing facilities
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications
Associate degree in civil or mechanical engineering or Technical Certificate in an associated field from an accredited school is preferred
The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner and be an integral part of a team environment
Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed outdoors or in a lab setting. There will be exposure to a manufacturing environment or outside weather conditions. When visiting a manufacturing area, the incumbent will be required to wear all mandatory personal protective equipment. The incumbent is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Domestic travel, including overnights, may be required up to 10%. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds in working with concrete materials, test rigging, etc.
