A Brief Summary of This Position:
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Industrial Engineering Tech position in the Global Utility Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will create CNC programs for a manufacturing shop and be a backup for creating standard routings.
Create CNC programs for multiple equipment - CNC Drills, Plasma Burn Table, and etc.
Review component parts using AUTOCAD
Review part numbers that are entered on the IFS system to ensure parts can be manufactured with specified limitations
Check Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and Route parts and assemblies
Process Engineering Change Notices
Update standard cost of part numbers in IFS and roll cost as required
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
High school diploma
Ability to do basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals
Knowledge of or the ability to learn the following computer programs to support job functions: IFS, EVA, Microsoft Office, and CNC programming using basic AutoCAD, Pronest, and other applications.
Ability to read and interpret production drawings
Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
Six months experience using AutoCAD in a professional environment
One year experience programming CNC equipment
Six months experience using Pronest
The ability to keep a positive, professional attitude in a fast paced, hectic work environment
Strong leadership skills and the ability to support business objectives
The ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment
Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is performed in an office setting, with most of the time being spent moving around different areas of production floor. The incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. This position will be exposed to all hazards located at manufacturing sites including noise, fumes, excessive heat/cold, dust, welding arc, all chemicals associated with the manufacturing areas, fire, smoke, unstable debris and confined spaces. Environment is fast-paced and demanding most of the time.The employee is frequently required to use hands to fingers, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrist rests. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds in working with large files, binders, computer equipment and shop equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
