Reporting to the Sales Manager, this position will have broad exposure to the design, sales, marketing and product development of mechanized irrigation equipment. This position will involve rotational assignments with sales staff within Valmont Northwest Inc. During these rotational assignments the employee will be trained in the areas of irrigation design, quotations, sales, project management, customer service, and product development. This position will assist the sales staff in their daily tasks that will include but not be limited to consistent product knowledge updates, product delivery, field measurements and surveys, site preparation, subcontractor oversight, product and system design, quote development, product presentation to the customer, contract requirements, billing procedures, sales follow up, and customer service.
An Associate’s degree / college degree or six years of agricultural or irrigation sales experience
A working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
A valid U.S. driver’s license and DOT qualified or eligible to be qualified within ninety days of start date
A thorough understanding of irrigation principles
Strong supervisory skills in directing service groups and contractors
Excellent conceptual, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills for directing projects and developing products
The ability to coordinate implementation and operation
The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
The ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff
Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
Previous work experience in sales of irrigation parts and services
A strong background in agriculture
A degree/diploma in sales, marketing, business, agriculture or technical field
