Under the direction of the Audit Manager, this Individual Contributor position performs and leads detailed audit reviews to support Valmont’s annual internal audit plan and other projects. This position is responsible for leading the planning, fieldwork and reporting of various audit entities and providing recommendations for the improvement of internal, operational, and management control systems. The nature of this position requires strong collaboration with internal business partners as well as external business partners to include external audit firms.
Essential Functions:
This position reports to the Audit Manager and has no direct or indirect reports.
This role requires up to 20% travel (internationally and domestically), including overnight stays.
Assess and report the results of assigned audits and projects for accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Investigate and determine root cause of control weaknesses and assess the impact on the Company’s control environment.
Consult with management to develop timely and achievable remediation plans.
Train and mentor intermediate and associate team members.
Seek and identify areas of process improvement.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Preferred Bachelor’s with 5+ years relevant experience or Associate’s degree with 7+ years relevant experience or 9+ years relevant experience.
3+ years of auditing experience in a professional service or manufacturing company.
Strong knowledge of financial and operational auditing processes and procedures.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to clearly and concisely present information to management.
Strong audit planning and organizational skills.
Ability to travel overnight within the US and internationally approximately 20%.
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, MIS or Business Administration from an accredited university.
Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, or CIS Auditor.
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or MIS.
Experience training and developing others.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Expert knowledge and use of Excel, Access, and related tools.
Experience using and developing data analytics.
