A Brief Summary of This Position:
This position is responsible for managing and developing the Composites value stream master schedule planning activities to support the objectives. The role coordinates communication and data flow between manufacturing, supply chain management and demand management, including ensuring ERP systems are properly aligned with desired business processes. The role includes developing and managing capacity planning, master production scheduling, component scheduling, and shop floor control. This position leads, plan, prepares, maintain and reports on the performance of the Composites schedule. This position is accountable for executing all work required to insure that the production plan is met including: planning, scheduling and coordinating the master demand schedule by reviewing and releasing work orders and inter-site requests in accordance with aligning resources with demand based on capacity planning and shop floor control principles as well as controlling and coordinating purchased material and manufacturing labor to meet schedule requirements.
Essential Functions:
Developing and expressing in ERP the production plan for operations on the Mapex, AS400 with access.
Support the creation of production plans for a department, process or machine that minimizes inventory levels, maximizes customer satisfaction
Master Production Schedule: Lead, plan, prepare, maintain and report on the performance of the Composites (Newberry & Estill) Schedule.
Capacity requirements plan: lead, create and maintain a capacity requirements plan that supports the Composites master schedule
Scheduling process: establish evaluation and maintain production planning processes and master schedule review
Reporting: Development, maintenance and communication of key performance indicators that are consistent with executive strategic and plant-level performance measures. Analyze data to identify causes of variances
Leadership: Set objectives for reports; review and monitor the performance to objectives. Select, train and motivate employees to meet objectives, removing barriers to success whenever possible. Work with employees to develop skills and advance their personal development plan
Training and growth: Train all new Composites schedulers and dispatches in the business processes and the ERP system. Identify and map growth opportunities for incumbent and reports
Requires up to 5% travel (including overnight stays)
Supervisors direct reports
Reports directly to the Materials Manager
Monitors discrepancies in inventory
Works close with Purchasing Team
Develops shortages of purchase parts
Establish communication to productions on missing components
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Preferred Bachelors with 5+ years relevant experience or Associates Degree with 7+ years’ experience or 9+ years of relevant experience
Two years of hands on experience with production planning and /or inventory management
Two years’ experience leading teams (indirectly or directly)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
APICS CPIM, CFPIM, SCOR-P or CSCP certified preferred
Proficient in Lean manufacturing techniques
Strong attention to detail and quality of work
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Prior experience with master scheduling utilizing production family methodologies
An understanding of priorities and balances short-term and long-term requirements
Demonstrated competence in the planning and set up of the KANBAN pull system
Knowledge of mathematics and data analysis
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
A Bachelor’s Degree
Capacity requirements planning experience
Experience with sales and operations planning processes preferred

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Includes visits to both indoor and outdoor locations during all seasons of the year. Normal working conditions will be in an office environment with above stated site visits. Safety glasses with side shields and safety shoes with metatarsal protection will be required to enter certain areas as well as hearing protection. Rare travel required. Good working conditions with an absence of disagreeable elements for all practical purposes.
Light physical work where the major portion of the job is accomplished in a sitting position with occasional standing and walking. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent may be required to reach with hands and arms. The incumbent will also be required to frequently use hands and fingers at the keyboard. In addition, the incumbent may occasionally be required to bend or twist. The employee must occasionally lift, pull or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
