Essential Functions:

  • Review the production schedule for the week.

  • Review work instructions and job travelers to verify the process.

  • Determine material, manpower, and equipment needs for each job.

  • Verify the correct set-up for each job.

  • Supervise quality personnel in the department.

  • AQL Sampling Inspections.

  • Oversee the training of Quality Assurance Levels 2 & 3.

  • Ensure that the department is producing a profitable high quality product at all times.

  • Act as liaison between employees and management.

  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment.

  • Verify the accuracy of departmental paperwork.

  • Assist the Quality Director with customer issues. Customer Inventories..

  • Incoming coatings approval.

  • Conformance testing.

  • Reviews & signs certifications.

  • Tabulates quality weekly results.

  • Knowledge of proper safety regarding hazardous waste handling

  • Hazardous Communication / Right to Know

  • Waste Minimization

  • Emergency Response / Contingency Plan

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

All of the working conditions for this position are in an office setting. With limited access to the manufacturing floor. The environment is fast-paced and demanding most of the time. Incumbents must utilize proper ergonomic and safety safeguards such as hearing protection if needed when on the shop floor. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with larger customer parts or boxes of files. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
