How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Production Floor Lead position in the Global Utility Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be responsible for supervising the Production department, ensuring the Assembly department has all the necessary and correct material for daily production, cleaning the department area, and training new employees in the department. In addition, all site personnel receive cross-training and will be expected to work in any part of the plant as required by management. Additionally, you will…

  • Compile all paperwork and create a checklist using the weekly production schedule

  • Design prints to guarantee daily production of the correct poles

  • Stamp nameplates

  • Cut pipe and welding rings for the Assembly department

  • Ensure all materials are placed in the next day’s production boxes

  • Unload all receiving trucks

  • Count and keep inventory on all supplies

  • Repair pipe lugs, deemed un-repairable, for future production

  • Train all new personnel to the Production department

  • Assist other crews with other departmental work and cleaning

What it takes

Required Qualifications

  • One year of previous experience operating hand and/or power tools in a professional environment

  • One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment

  • Welding certification

  • The ability to accurately use and read a tape measure, thread gauges, micrometer, protractor, and dial calipers

  • The ability to pass a forklift driver’s test

  • The ability to learn on the job in a fast-paced environment

  • The ability to read and comprehend engineered design prints

  • Must be flexible to work extended hours including nights and weekends when necessary

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • A high awareness for safety at all times

  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
