A Brief Summary of This Position:
This functional manager position will report directly to the Plant Manager with a matrix reporting to the Operations VP HRBP.. The incumbent of this position will build and develop effective relationships with leaders, managers and employees to influence and execute HR initiatives and will be responsible to work with leaders in areas of employee relations, performance/check-in process management, recruiting, retention initiatives, policy implementation and adherence, change management, talent development and training, and employment law compliance including workers’ compensation claims review. This position is actively involved with internal Global HR leaders in execution of HR strategy.
Essential Functions: ·
Report to the Plant Manager and matrix reporting to Vice President and HR Business Partner Operations
Ability to spend time in both Farmington and Elkhart, IN as needed
Demonstrate commitment to exceptional employee relations support by ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries/request
Develop and maintain an understanding of the business through exposure to departmental and site activities as well as employment/labor initiatives and regulations
Collaborate with department leaders to better understand the responsibilities of each position and to understand the boundaries of exceptional performance as it relates to these responsibilities
Set internal expectations to impact personal and professional development of each employee and build organizational bench strength
Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, local and country employment regulations
Participate in HR initiatives and projects; Identify business segment/location needs and creatively work with HR leadership to recommend viable solutions
Recruit, interviews, and coordinate on-boarding activities for new hires
Work with leadership on updating job descriptions
Work with the Talent Acquisition staff to spearhead job posting and reasonable position-fill times
Act as segment liaison to communicate and execute functional area and Company initiatives, as required
Manage group activities surrounding United Way, benefits open enrollments, wellness clinics, new programs/policies, performance management, check-in process, pay rules and practices and training initiatives
Provide information and tools to support effective delivery of HR services, processes and systems training
Build credibility by demonstrating an understanding of the business strategy, its challenges and opportunities, and aligning the both short- and long-term human capital planning as well as facilitating and implementing initiatives in support of business success
Stay current on HR practices through benchmarking, networking, and exposure to business related research/publications
Demonstrate a solid working knowledge of US employment regulation as well as the willingness to learn other country employment and labor regulations in order to perform well in this position including the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Work with the Compensation Center of Expertise (CoE) to obtain current market compensation and competitive benefits and pay data, job description approvals
Champion change and effectively guide management and associates through organizational change
Initiate activities surrounding promotions, transfers, divestitures, facility closures, etc., and ensure communications are handled with a level of care appropriate to the situation
Champion the performance management process. Identify position key responsibilities, assist with the development of performance goals, assess progress and evaluate base pay compensation keeping performance, market pay practices and internal equity in mind
Develop and maintain HR related metrics and reports. Analyze results for improvement or best practice indicators. Create and deliver professional presentations with data from various sources, systems and reports.
Work with Sites to track and report all pandemic-type exposures.
Travel <10% travel, both domestic and international, including overnight stays.
Flexibility to participate weekly in meetings at all times of day

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years relevant experience or Associates degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; or 10+ years relevant experience
Demonstrated progressive movement in HR field
Demonstrated knowledge of employment regulation with experience in compliance non-conformities
Minimum of two years of experience working with a major, non-proprietary HRIS system
Ability to travel occasionally, including travelling by air, staying overnight and occasionally staying over weekends when travelling globally
Demonstrated ability to work professionally and independently and to take initiative to perform work needed whether or not it falls within the HR functional area
Strong customer service orientation, professional communication and presentation skills
Willingness to have fun and enjoy the work environment
Attention to detail including a high degree of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with many deadlines
Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, take initiative and be vigilant with maintaining confidentiality of sensitive/personal/private information. Employee must be willing to sign an HR Confidentiality Agreement.
Experience with employee dispute resolution practices and an understanding of when to bring information to the forefront to avoid potential discord in the workplace, agency claims or litigation
Must be extremely well organized and have the ability to execute swiftly and efficiently
A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
An unexpired driver’s license is required; Ability to travel to Elkhart, IN as needed
Travel is reimbursed through the Company credit card program, and employee must be and remain in good financial standing to qualify for this travel privilege and to participate in company sponsored travel
Ability to speak, read and write in English fluently at a high school graduate level or higher
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications
PHR certification, or SHRM-CP certification
Experience using Workday and EmpCenter® Suite (Enterprise Workforce Management) software applications
3 years HR Experience in Manufacturing/Warehousing environment
Variable Compensation strategy

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in an office setting; however, incumbent may be required to go into a production environment for work purposes. While visiting manufacturing/production areas, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times (check with local leadership to understand these requirements before venturing into these areas). The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as participate in computer and phone discussions where speaking and listening abilities are needed. Occasionally, the employee will need to walk between offices or buildings to attend business meetings/activities. The general work environment is fast paced and demanding. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger/keyboard, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms between waist and shoulder height while working in the office with various equipment, files and forms and while working on a computer or laptop. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height, and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds (includes laptop bag), and will rarely pull, push or lift up to 40 pounds when traveling (suitcase weight). Employee must be able and willing to travel by air and may be required to drive as part of the responsibilities of this position. Additionally, employee may be required to get an international driver’s license. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Travel is required up to 25% for this position (domestic and international) with overnight stays.
