Brief Summary:
Join our team as the Regional Project Engineering Supervisor, overseeing the engineering functions essential for the design and installation of large-scale Solar projects. You will lead a diverse team of engineers, including electrical, mechanical, and structural engineers, ensuring the successful execution of projects in alignment with company goals. This role involves providing guidance, training, and support to team members, managing budgets and manpower, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and industry stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
Staff, develop, and coach the regional project engineering team to achieve goals and objectives
Recommend manpower and budget allocations, ensuring control of expenses
Establish work procedures and guidelines to facilitate workflow and accuracy
Implement company policies and communicate them to the team
Participate in professional societies and industry technical activities to stay informed about industry standards and innovations
Maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and consulting engineering firms
Evaluate customer projects and negotiate specifications and acceptance
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams
Work with R&D on next-generation products and specifications
Other Important Details:
Requires intensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices in structural, mechanical, and electrical design engineering
Makes independent decisions on engineering problems and represents the organization at conferences and industry committees
Utilizes advanced techniques and modifies theories, precepts, and practices in related fields
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience
Leadership experience through project management or prior supervisory roles
Strong leadership qualities and ability to motivate employees toward common objectives
Ability to manage multiple tasks and provide direction to individual engineers and drafters
Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical applications
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess:
Master of Engineering degree
Experience in the solar industry with a solid understanding of product end-use
Professional Engineering registration preferred
Passport holder with the ability to obtain Visas for international travel
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in Colorado is $115,100.00 - $179,800.00. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Valmont Industries considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market and business considerations when extending an offer.
