A Brief Summary of This Position:
This individual contributor role is responsible for the general accounting and reporting for Irrigation Components International, part of Valmont Industries. This includes administering accounts payable, posting of general ledger transactions, preparation and review of account reconciliations and participation in the month-end closing process. This position has shared responsibility for maintaining and administering the general ledger for both domestic and international divisions. In addition, there will be responsibility for the coordination and reconciliation of intercompany charges between the various Valmont locations. This role is also responsible for assisting with the preparation of the annual operating plan (AOP) for Irrigation Components International.
This position reports into the Vice President of International Sales (dotted line to Valmont Water Division Controller) and has no direct reports
This role requires up to (5%) travel (domestically), including overnight stays.
Review warranty calculations for accuracy and completeness.
Responsible for monthly reconciliation of bank account(s).
Complete month-end balance sheet reconciliations and related activities.
Complete and file various types of tax returns on behalf of Valmont sites.
Prepare intercompany reconciliations for multiple sites.
Month-end review and analysis of income statement results.
Record journal entries on the general ledger for multiple sites.
Work with multiple sites utilizing different ERP systems.
Assist with reconciliation of physical inventory and cycle counts.
Assist both Internal and External Audit with compliance and regulatory investigations.
Maintain accuracy and timeliness of transaction reports.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Preferred Bachelors with 3+ years relevant experience or Associates Degree with 5+ years relevant experience or 7+ years of relevant experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint
Ability to pay attention to detail and follow instructions
Ability to effectively analyze data
Very strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and under high pressure
Experience in a wide range of business tasks, perhaps at a small/mid-size business
Passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
Working knowledge of accounting software: IFS, QAD, or Sage 100
Multilingual: Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Russian, Arabic or French are preferred

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
