Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Electromechanical Technician III position in the Maintenance department. Performs highly skilled and technical work in areas of installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronic, & mechanical equipment with a wide knowledge and high degree of proficiency.
Performs electrical & mechanical troubleshooting and repair on all plant and production equipment
Performs new installations of equipment and performs major repairs/replacements.
Responsible for installation of distribution equipment including switchgear, I-lines, bus ways, gutters, disconnects, conduits and cables in accordance with UL and National Electrical Code.
Able to read & understand hydraulic & pneumatic valves & prints.
Service equipment to include: cranes, lathes, drills, presses, press brakes, shears, robots, tube mills, high frequency induction equipment, numerical control lathes and distribution equipment.
Performs Preventive Maintenance on equipment.
Performs diagnosis, testing, disassembly, inspecting, precise measuring, repair and re-assembly of plant equipment or components such as lathes, hydraulic & mechanical presses, shears, & press brakes, with limited instruction.
Designs and installs controllers and control equipment, and if necessary, can change, alter, or modify existing equipment.
Analyze PLC programs for machine monitoring and makes adjustments as needed.
Performs pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical troubleshooting along with electrical electronic troubleshooting.
Provides electronic, electrical, & mechanical instruction as needed.
Adapts sensors to computer inputs and verify voltage and current sensors.
Maintain high frequency induction equipment, CNC and NC equipment, communications networks, and radios/radio controls.
Performs service work efficiently and safely with little or no supervision.
May be called at irregular hours to assist emergency situations at the plant.
Performs general responsibilities such as recording labor and materials, reporting abnormal conditions and safety hazards, operates lifting equipment such as man lifts, cherry picker and mighty lift, in a safe and efficient manner.
Reviews engineering production drawings and interprets schematics and communicates to departments.
What it takes
Must either be a graduate of an acceptable Technical Training School in the area of electromechanical maintenance
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an electromechanical related position
PC literate (PLC software, Windows, etc)
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
10 years’ experience in an Electromechanical Technician role
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
