How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the MI Jack Operator position in the Global Utility Division . We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be able to move materials/products to and from location. Additionally, you will…

  • Signal and verbally direct workers engaged in rigging and moving loads in order to ensure safety of workers and materials

  • Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability

  • Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to weights and sizes

  • Control movement of travel lifts crane/mi-jack through narrow openings or confined spaces in order to store or load concrete poles

  • Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under and/or around obstacles using multi-point suspension techniques

What it takes

Required Qualifications

  • One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment

  • Must be able to read a tape measure

  • Must be able to operate a Mi-Jack with rigging

  • The ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision

  • The ability to keep track of pole inventory in pole yard

  • The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment

  • The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions

  • The ability to identify daily mold changes needed for production schedule

  • Must have a high awareness for safety at all times

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Two years of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment

  • The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner

  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
