A Brief Summary of This Position:

This position is accountable for the analysis and reporting of Divisional (Bartow site) Utility financial data including sales, inventory valuation, income statements, and operational variances. Incumbent reports to the Site Controller and is expected to perform special projects as assigned. Reconciles and adjusts various general ledger accounts and/or bank statements. May perform moderately complex analysis of performance results. Compiles, consolidates, and analyzes accounting and financial statements and reports.

Essential Functions:

  • This position reports the Site Controller and has no direct or indirect reports

  • Maintain Project Tracking Log, detailing and updating customer information based on orders received

  • Input customer sales orders into Sage Accounting system

  • Create customer invoices in Sage Accounting system on a daily basis based on jobs shipped

  • Assist Site Controller with forecasting and budgeting

  • Audit financial and operational data for accuracy and completeness

  • Report site operational results

  • Develop and implement techniques or procedures to provide enhanced data analysis

  • Coordinate monthly closing activities with other members of site staff to ensure accurate and timely information

  • Research, prepare and reconcile sales and production reports to ensure timely and accurate reporting

  • Audit inventory transactions

  • Reconcile various General Ledger accounts, including all Balance Sheet accounts

  • Assist Internal/External auditors in their annual site audit

  • Reconcile Sales backlog and prepare product line reporting

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Preferred Bachelor’s with 3+ years of relevant experience or Associates degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or 7+ years of relevant experience

  • Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets and ability to understand related data and detect problems

  • Excellent oral communication skills are required along with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Discretion is expected in all confidential accounting areas such as payroll and competitive company information

  • The incumbent must be able to analyze the workload and prioritize the timely completion of each task

  • Daily responsibilities as well as responsibilities on a monthly or one-time basis are to be completed correctly and in a timely manner

  • Accuracy and timeliness in all aspects of the job are essential. Must work ethically and with integrity at all times.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Sage Accounting Software

  • Advanced Excel skills

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
