*Ae you looking for an incredible opportunity to help drive large design of irrigation globally? This role would allow you to travel, be strategic with our customers and create new designs. This role does require prior hydraulics experience along with your PE certification*

The incumbent is responsible for executing engineering projects from evaluation, through design and implementation. This position will provide project management on larger/more complicated projects; and prepare technical designs, specifications, reports, and construction cost estimates, and support the drafting and engineering resources for workload, scheduling, prioritization, staff coaching, productivity, and continual improvement. This includes reviewing the work produced by the engineering group for quality assurances purposes. This position will support junior engineering staff, identify, and develop project leads, and assist in preparation of written scopes of work and cost proposals for new projects. This position is also expected to be the primary Responsible Charge/Principal Engineer as required by individual state licensing boards for maintaining engineering business permits.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and execute agricultural water and wastewater design projects.

  • Project coordination including design, scope of work, cost estimating, and contract negotiations.

Monitor and review contracts and contractors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations including administering change orders and estimates.

  • Work closely with various design, engineering, and environmental consultants, developers, builders, public agencies, and contractors to ensure that city ordinances and standards are upheld, and project schedules are met.

  • Prepare project status reports.

  • Visit clients and project sites, including Valley Dealers and Strategic Partners.

  • Provide responsible, complex support, and assistance to the project managers with assigned projects and regularly update project status, schedules of completion, project issues, and needed modifications.

  • Prepare and review project cost estimates and monitor construction project account funding.

  • Administration of budgets and applicable reports

  • Maintain a filing system containing all project plans, studies, construction documents, and related materials.

  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.

  • Evaluation, report preparation, and design of irrigation systems and water/wastewater treatment/conveyance systems with a focus on process design, pretreatment, equipment, selection

  • Identify and develop project leads and assist in preparation of written scopes of work and cost proposals for new projects.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology with 6+ years preferred relevant experience.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer registration with ability to obtain reciprocity in multiple states (active NCEES registration is preferred).

  • PE Certification

  • Experience with pump and piping/hydraulic networks for large irrigation projects, water treatment/reuse.

  • Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork skills

  • The ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong mathematical skills including statistics, work measurement.

  • A valid U.S. driver’s license

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes with an emphasis on electrical mechanical equipment and processes

  • 5 years of experience within Valmont Irrigation or equivalent experience in a similar industry.
